IE7 challenged by Acid2
Will Microsoft get away by releasing again just fuzzy promises about standards support, without actually delivering on them? I hope not. Spite of all developments and marketing about alternative and better browsers, the general public seems to react with a slowness that I’m having difficulty to understand. In contrast when a new version of Internet Explorer is released conversion rates are higher. Is this a brand advantage, or something else?
Hoping that IE7 will have better standard support Håkon Wium Lie (CTO of Opera Software and the father of CSS) and the Web Standards Project will issue a challenge called Acid2. Basically a test page using all those CSS2 features long waited by us. Lets hope that Microsoft will react to challenge.
