IE7 challenged by Acid2
Will Microsoft get away by releasing again just fuzzy promises about standards support, without actually delivering on them? I hope not. Spite of all developments and marketing about alternative and better browsers, the general public seems to react with a slowness that I’m having difficulty to understand. In contrast when a new version of Internet Explorer is released conversion rates are higher. Is this a brand advantage, or something else?
Hoping that IE7 will have better standard support HÃ¥kon Wium Lie (CTO of Opera Software and the father of CSS) and the Web Standards Project will issue a challenge called Acid2. Basically a test page using all those CSS2 features long waited by us. Lets hope that Microsoft will react to challenge.
